Art Journaling with Old Book Pages

For the next few weekly blog posts for Get Messy, I tried art journaling with old book pages.

I cut some shapes out of old book pages and machine sewed them to the pages. I also used my typewriter for the journaling.

This week I really liked the colour combination of grid paper and red zig zag stitches.

I also loved the sewing on the coffee cup, especially the “coffee” in the mug.

Have you use old book pages in craft projects?

Get Messy is an art journal challenge where a gang of crafty vixens are sharing art journal pages we have created to practice our skills and push past our creative limits with hopes to inspire. We will be sharing our work around social media so follow the hashtag #getmessyartjournal.

Love it! I’m drinking my hot, black coffee from a nice mug right now–totally get it.

Oh, i am just LOVING these pages. Everything about them. The stitching is perfect, adds just the loveliest touch. Love that you cut from an old book. And well, I’m a fellow coffee snob, so. I love the sentiments here. Also that grid paper! Yes. ??
