Sewing paper is an interesting way to add texture to art journal pages. Sewing on paper is pretty simple if you know how to use a sewing machine. I use a Brother sewing machine that has quite a few stitch options: My favourite is the loop.
This is the last of three week’s of paper collage art; art journal pages with a paper collage theme. I was interested in trying some paper collage, being inspired by Katie Licht’s collage work. I like how often she uses a limited colour palette and also how she often uses paper with words on it (I used some old book pages and scrapbook paper).
This time I tried using a single page rather than two pages. I think a single page makes me think it could be frameable art, and I really like that idea of making small pieces so I can change my artwork more frequently.
Have you tried sewing paper? Leave a comment or share a link to your project, I’d love to see!
