Get Messy Art Journal Prompts

Art journal page with photos and sheet music. From The Handcrafted Story.

If you’re interested in trying art journaling, I recommend signing up for the Get Messy Newsletter for prompts, linkups, tutorials, accountability, and resources.

This is the second of three sets of art journal pages I made during one nap time. I tried to use elements inspired from the book Art Journal Art Journey: typewriter words (one word to a line), photos and washi tape. I added machine stitching.

Art journal page with typewriter text, photos and machine sewing. From The Handcrafted Story.

The words are song lyrics, based on a Get Messy Art Journal prompt: “Choose a quote that represents your view on the holidays or sums up this years holiday season and add it to your page. “

I found the snow photos that I had previously printed. The words I chose are lyrics from the song “Snow” by Sleeping at Last.

I’ve been inspired by the book Art Journal Art Journey. I like the use of paint chips, photos, and typewriter text. Read my full review of this art journal book.

Have you used sheet music in your projects? Post a link in the comments.
