Get Messy Art Journal 003

get messy art journal

This week for the Get Messy Art Journal I tried hand-cutting letters out of a magazine page (“Dwell” is my One Little Word of the year). I also drew lines across the other page and wrote out the verse that relates to my word (Psalm 91:1).

I used Scotch Craft Stick and my favourite scissors.

I have really likes Lisa Congdon’s hand lettering, which is what I tried to imitate in this project.

Get Messy is an art journal challenge where a gang of crafty vixens are sharing art journal pages we have created to practice our skills and push past our creative limits with hopes to inspire. We will be sharing our work around social media so follow the hashtag #getmessyartjournal.

Art Journaling

I am participating in the 31 Days, which is a blogging challenge in October organized by The Nester. I have chosen to (attempt) to write Monday-Friday during October on the topic of art journaling.

I love seeing crossovers between different creative projects (like OLW in art journals!) Are you blogging about your OLW experiences too?

Right – back to Get Messy! Your hand writing is fantastic and I love the variation in letter size! Xx

Thanks Delaney! I don’t think I’ve written about my One Little Word on my blog yet. I was waiting to have a related project to post, but I haven’t figured out what I want to make yet.

Nice. I am looking for new techniques. I must try this.
Love the simplicity of these pages. Simple and effective.

Really beautiful pages 🙂 I really like the uneven lines and text. Your cut out letter are great too, the color is lovely!

Where did you find that craft stick? I bought a bunch a long time ago and I am running out. I have looked everywhere but Office Depot. I am guessing they are there then. But they aren’t at my Wal-Mart.
Anywhos, I love your page. Especially when you included your one little word. Are you doing the class too?

Sorry, Cody, I can’t remember where I got that craft stick since it was at least a few years ago. But they are on Amazon. I would probably try an art supply store, also.

Yes, I’m doing the one little word class. I’m trying to figure out how I want to document my word. Are you doing the class?
