First Snow: Macro Snowflake Photos

We finally got our first real snow of the season, and the snowflakes look like individual snowflakes instead of clumps. I was able to take my favourite lens (100mm macro) to get some cool macro snowflake photos.

Some of the photos were stuck in spider webs.

All these photos were taken in our yard.

The following set of four photos was taken on a piece of black cardstock yesterday. It was amazing to see how unique each snowflake is.

Thanks, Rachel! There’s something special about the first snow. It wears off after a few months, but in the meantime, I will enjoy it.
