DIY felt boards for toddlers are all over Pinterest. The essence is a piece of felt for the background and smaller shapes cut out that the toddler can move around. You can glue some pieces together if they are very small, but part of the fun is moving the parts around. These would be idea for a child around 2-3 years old.
This following cupcake felt board isn’t complete yet, but I was trying to quickly cut out the pieces while my daughter was putting them down.
Felt Board Making Methods
I cut all the pieces free hand, but I found tutorials about how to use freezer paper to cut it out, and also how to iron on images with t-shirt transfer paper, and I’d like to try both of those methods.

I’d like to make some felt pieces to play a hide and seek game, like this cute egg and chick set.
The following board includes some animals which I glued together. That could be confusing for kids if they are used to playing with all the pieces that come apart.

Christmas Felt Boards
I would love to make a felt Christmas tree for our girls to play with, but I’m not sure if it will happen this year. And, since I love nativity sets, I am very tempted by this super cute nativity felt puppets pattern for sale on Etsy.
